It was driving her crazy and she was driving them crazy!
No one else could hear it, but it annoyed them just the same; the constant ringing, ringing, ringing never went away.
It started so very long ago, just a slight occasional ringing that faded as fast as it formed.
But, now, it was crippling, crushing, controlling, catastrophic; she couldn’t take it and from time to time thought of an alternative end.
She prayed and pled for a moment’s peace.
But there was none; the numbing noise never ended.
