So, it’s the Ides of March, that terrible day of which Caesar was warned by the soothsayer of old.
She was right, it was bad day for the old boy, after all he was assassinated!
But, you know, it’s not just Julius!
It was a bad day for Pancho Villa too. In 1916, President Wilson sent 4,000 troops into Mexico to chase the old boy down!
A year later, The Russian Czar Nicholas was forced to abdicate as the Bolsheviks took over.
In 1920, an entire Texas town went UP in flames, leaving 1,000 families homeless.
No one died though, so we’ll call it a win.
In 1938, German Jews lost the right to vote. Hitler – ass of the century – being in charge and all.
Burton and Taylor married for the first time – 1964.
And we all know how that ended!
I think I’ll just stay in bed today!
Happy Ides of March!
