Any car enthusiast will know that today is Preston Tucker’s birthday.
He was born 110 years ago in Capac, Michigan and grew UP in Detroit.
He was a car nut from the word go.
Auto racer, engineer, businessman, and entrepreneur, he designed one of the most fantastic automobiles ever made.
Only 51 of them made it all the way through the assembly line.
The Tucker Motor Company failed – for reasons too numerous to mention – and not for most of the reasons credited.
He was a great dreamer, a great artist, and an innovator.
The current value of one of his cars ranges from $200,000 to $750,000. But, you’d have a hard time buying one.
They are all in private collections or museums.
You gotta’ love a car guy!
And you gotta’ love innovation!
