The Cold War brought us many things. The Red Scare, fall-out shelters, the Domino Theory, the Atomic Bomb, and the spies we love, Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale.
Little is know about Natasha’s childhood. Some would have us believe she’s the love child of Axis Sally and Count Dracula. The former Miss Transylvania sneaked into the US at the age of 19, modeled for Charles Addams, and met the love of her life, Boris Badenov while throwing rocks at Girl Scouts who were selling Samoas, Thin Mints, and Do-Si-Dos.
Well, she is reed thin!
Boris, a spy from Pottslyvania, takes his orders from the Fearless Leader, usually bungles his assignments, and is often belittled and derided by Natasha.
Why do we always hurt the ones we love?
Boris is a little quirky, he’s a founding member of the Van Gogh Society, a group of people who collect human ears.
Natasha makes him keep them in the garage.
After the rock throwing incident, where both were arrested, they fell madly in love, and pursued a life of crime. Sort of a Rusky Bonnie and Clyde!
Most of their efforts are usually thwarted by Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Bullwinkle the Moose, which is another love story for another day.
Fortunately, the powers of Squirrel and Moose are no match for Natasha and Boris, and good usually wins in the end of the day.
The dastardly duo go home to lick their wounds, plan again, and console one another. That’s what lovers should do.
