With men and women all over the world enjoying views like these…

… it’s only fitting that we celebrate today, August 8, as the day the classic hit “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Charts!
Bryan Hyland, a singer with a pretty decent career in the 1960s, recorded the song.

Hyland , a New Yorker from Queens, recorded the number one hit when he was 16 years old…move over Beebs, you’re a poser…he had a few more hits, but nothing that compared to the Bikini song that’s become part of Americana. Click HERE if you live in a cave and you’ve never heard it, or just want to be reminded of a happier time.

Yes, she was afraid to come out of the locker, but no one in London seems to be…and we’re all enjoying it, very much!

I heard, on the news, that there was discussion of a required “more modest” uniform for volleyball, diving, swimming, etc. This was b/c some countries have a higher standard regarding female modesty. For example remember the burka, long skirts in Mexico, the Komono in China, etc. The good ‘ole US of A, phoo-phooed the notion immediately and the topic was dismissed by the Olympian Board. For some reason the phrase “it was an Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Athletic Tank Suit” just doesn’t quite fit.
Love ya,
