Skynyrd Tee Shirt!

A few months back, on a sunny, breezy spring day, I was on Interstate 85,

headed into the city to meet my friends Chardelle and Michael, and as I on occasion do, was listening to The Best of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The sun-roof was open the windows cracked a tad, I cranked it UP.  Afterall, why miss a word?

It’s Skynyrd!

And the louder, the better.

Headed off on exit 86 to mid-town, I slowed, pulled UP to the light at the bottom of the ramp.  I didn’t think about the volume.

Until the cop turned his lights on.

Atlanta's Finest

He was beside me, APD, one of Atlanta’s finest.

He immediately turned his lights off when I turned the music off and reached for the license and registration.   He never got out of the car, just pulled UP beside me and said, “I could write you a ticket for a noise ordnance violation.”

In a panic, I replied, “But, Officer, It’s Skynyrd!”  Thinking for sure he’d “write me UP”.

But, he didn’t.    He just waved and drove off!

Afterall, it’s Skynyrd!

Whew!!
