Coming back to haunt me…
Posted by PaulOct 14
…it is October after-all, and Halloween is right around the corner, but I never thought I’d be haunted by my own words.
Apparently, I express myself too much!
I was recently displaced from my job. Not the end of the world, but a blow nonetheless. It’s working out. I have another part time job, and the school where I was employed calls me almost every day to sub in the department where I worked before. So, it’s all good.
Except, it isn’t.
It’s different.
I’m not sure I like it.
Well, it’s just different. I don’t get to help people as much as I did in the old role, and now it seems like I’m just filling a spot. Punching a ticket, and just “eye candy”.
Let me dream!
But…to the point of this rant post.
My best friend at work, some would say my “work spouse”, and I were discussing my new situation. I was apparently whining a tad too much, when she said:
“You should take your own advice. Let it go.”
Say whaaaaaaaat?
My response was, “I said that?”
Her, “Often.”
Me, “Really?”
Her, “Yes, that’s what you tell me every day.”
Me, “Gotta go, class is starting.”
So, I got to thinkin’…and we all know that’s dangerous…should I talk less and blog more? Should I just listen and not offer advice? Should I change my advice?
Nah…I’m good…but, I think I’m gonna let it go.

You are also prone to say, “People change, get over it.”
Today is your use-to-be favorite neice’s 38th Birthday, Amy Elizabeth Fisk-Johnson-Sheehan. You remember more about your birth, than I do hers. And I was there!! Scary.

Change can be the super-suck! But it can also be the pathway that leads to something better than you could have imagined before…can’t wait to see what that is! Being crowned King o’ the Blogosphere perhaps?

I’m all about the, “Do as I say, not as I do,” philosophy too!

I’m proud of you! You don’t just come in and “punch a ticket” and go, because you care. That is what sets you apart from the rest. I like that you’re still there even though you’re “not”. It just wouldn’t be the same without our little quick chats as we’re passing in the halls. Me love!

I don’t like change. I think I handle it well. I adapt easily but I bi**h about it and whine about it a lot. Yet, I have found, and truly believe, all things in life happen for a reason but it is not always easy to see the reason at the time or hang on in the midst of the storm. It’s also not easy to always live up to your own advice. Grab your boot strings, you’ll be fine.

I’m probably one of the few people in the world that enjoy change. So in that sense, are we sure i’m your kid?? haha
but i think its easy to give advice and not believe it or do it yourself.. you tell people what you know they need to hear. Which then brings about the haunting of words, when they give it back to you in a similar situation.. hmmm.

I like the Pedicure, and do my own and have since about 10 years old. My Mother, God rest her soul, started me doing hers when I ws about that age. I kept a large pocket knife as sharp as a razor and she did not hesitate to ask when needed. She let them go until the nails got so thick, it was a chore scraping the down to normal for her comfort. She was so very self reliant, there was little one could do for her, but this she enjoyed it and I was glad to accomodate her, only thinking of her love for me and how she made all my clothes on her sewing machine, etc. These poor people today really don’t know what poor is. They should have been around in the Hoover Depression days. I love you.
